Created by the Japanese Kyouei Design Studio, the lamp “Honeycomb” is entirely made of paper “denguri“, a product of the Shikoku region from Japan, which is unique in effect and create a lantern that is only 2 cm thick when is packaged for delivery.
Because of the way the lamp is built, the light also illuminates the glass beam, creating that delightful X-Files effect.
In nurseries and kid’s rooms, remember night lighting: Think about the lighting for when children sleep when planning lighting requirements. Night lights can help small children from being scared, but can also help parents navigate through dark rooms.
Subtle elegance fills the space that each piece of lighting is occupying. Ribbons made from metal gracefully shroud the supporting structure made from thin metal bars that each have a light bulb at the end. The thin undulating metal strips are actually the most important trademark of Jacco Maris Design.
I really love these 2D designs. You can stick your lamp anywhere you want. You are no longer restricted by the traditional delimma of sticking it on a table or the floor.
Bellacor forecasts geometric lighting fixtures as one of the hottest lighting trends now. Its recommendation is to keep it simple: “Although geometric lighting fixtures invoke a minimalist aesthetic, they’re not just for modern and contemporary interiors.
Task lighting: The primary and most widely used purpose of pendant lighting if for illuminating a task area. Whether it is in your kitchen over a bar or kitchen island, or over a work surface-desk area. Pendant lights offer the versatility of being able to see clearly what is at hand for safety and clarity of the task.
Ambient lighting: Pendant lights can also be used as more of a decorative and artistic way to light a space. Multiple story atriums, foyers, and open spaced rooms maximize the look of pendant lights the most effectively with long and dramatic extension wires.
In areas where ambiance is wanted along with task lighting, add a dimmer onto your pendant lights for versatility of controlling the light output.
The Messe Frankfurt Light+Building show in Germany is the event where retailers, designers and architects go to view what’s next in the lighting design world.
Modern and rustic have never worked so well together! A perfect match, indeed! The house’s beauty is influenced by the special lighting system, that adds value to the interior, bringing into the spotlight different artistic objects. The light system, in this particular case, is a powerful tool: it generates mystery, making everything look absolutely lovely in nighttime and of course, it create a more spacious environment. The interior is connected to the terrace through a glass wall, favouring a slow transition between the environments.
The designer’s mission was to set three different sets of lightning (three “SCENES”) and show how with one interior and different lighting, you can feel in different ways:
We really like this idea, even through for some people it may seem a little irritating, especially if the lamp is in motion and the light keeps fluctuating. However, when it reaches a state of balance, it emits the same type of light as any other common lighting emitting item.
A wonderfully crafted and cleverly folded lamp springs to life from the hardy white pages of the bound book, powered by a simple low voltage adapter. Finally a coffee table book that you’ll actually open. Designed by Takeshi Ishiguro
The key to their versatility is utter simplicity.” The geometric trend is a great option if you’re looking to give your space a modern or mid-century vibe.
