The “Atmosphere” project by ALL in | Studio a small and flexible studio for architecture, interior and product design in Bulgaria- revolves around the concept of LIGHT. According to the project developer, “light influences our well-being, the aesthetic effect and the mood of a room or area.
In the morning the lamp opens, gradually increasing the light intensity to give the user a more comfortable awakening. LULL is an award-winning product made for GiForm 2007, an industrial design competition in Norway.“
The delicate design opens like a book into a honeycomb pattern that’s held together with small clips in the back. Once unfolded, it presents a soft-yet-stable paper lamp that has its own aura of architecture. It comes without any wiring or bulbs, so all you’ll need to do is add a bulb and a cord and you’re set.
Light can alter the appearance of a room or area without physically changing it. Light directs our view, influences perception and draws our attention to specific details. Light can be used to divide and interpret rooms in order to emphasize areas or establish continuity between the interior and exterior”.
Lighting that looks like a flower, or is made from seagrass and beautifully handcrafted has turned pendant lights into sculptural artisan finds that we love. Try looking in your favorite trendy home décor magazine, pendant lights are now more for show than only producing light.
A sensor detects how it’s been positioned and operates the light accordingly. I would like to have a desk lamp like this to read focused and undisturbed in the middle of the night, away from the heat durring the day.
Here the lighting has a specific function. Large marble wall paneling is illuminated in the living room, spots over the kitchen island, hidden lighting and lamps hanging over the table. Multimedia is active and the speakers play classical music. Suitable for both expressive cooking and the family gathering around the table.
The Troja Arc Lamp is a really big lamp, than can provide a high quality light for a very large space. The design is simple and modern, but if you want this lamp you’ll need some space, because she is quite big as you can see.
For those who want things that are a little bit out of common, here is a great and beautiful example of how you can use illumination with style. Javier Henriquez and Sebastian Lara from the Mexican design studio eos méxico got inspired by the suburb afternoons and came up with this beautiful birds on a wire illumination. A simple design, but the effect is very interesting, and I’m sure that is not to much work to build yourself one of these.
LULL is a lamp that opens and closes like a flower. In the evening the lamp gives a warm glow, to give a feeling of safety while it slowly turns itself off.
Isn’t this neat We think so and love this extremely unique concept. You’ll really surprise everyone with this beautifully innocent book. The book of lights pop up protagonist emits a tabletop warming glow.
This amazing lamp was achieved by cutting up an old fashioned table lamp and inserting more than 40 perspex plates in between the slices. The designers from Studio Mango (The Netherlands) wanted to make ordinary perspex more posh. Well, they not only succeeded but they also managed to update what was an old lamp and made it more modern looking.
The designer’s mission was to set three different sets of lightning (three “SCENES”) and show how with one interior and different lighting, you can feel in different ways:
The human body is meant to move, and if sitting in an office eight hours a day is a must, then desks must be reinvented: “We believe your work desk is more than a tool we see it as a work companion which cares about your health and enables your healthy lifestyle”, added the designers. Have a look at the video below to better understand how it works:
While in a living room, opt for a floor lamp next to a couch or favorite reading chair. In bathrooms the lighting at the mirror should be free from shadows and glaring light.
